Economic Development

The Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce defines economic development as those activities intended to encourage the accumulation of wealth through the creation and retention of jobs; attraction, expansion and retention of businesses, expansion of the tax base and improvement of the business climate. Economic Development Committee
The Chamber’s Economic Development Committee will have the unique opportunity to learn more about Minnesota’s Life Science industry Monday, September 28 at 3:30 p.m.  Liz Rammer, the Executive Vice President of Life Science Alley and Jeremy Lenz, Vice President of Operations for the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota will present a quick history of Minnesota’s life science industry while detailing Minnesota’s strengths, opportunities, and challenges as we competes in a global market to grow this industry.  Chamber members are welcome to attend.  Please RSVP by emailing Michael@saintpaulchamber.com.


Current issues

Green building policy
The City of Saint Paul is currently working on drafting a green building policy.  The Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce will continue to track this issue while informing its members of any developments. 

Downtown revitalization
The Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce strongly believes that downtown Saint Paul is a critical part to our regional economy.  Over the last year, the Chamber has focused a great amount of energy into facilitating a series of conversations about the future of downtown Saint Paul.   These conversations have served as a way to better understand how people feel about downtown and how we can work together to foster downtown revitalization.
