E-Mentoring for Career Investment Scholarship Students
Provided through grants from Travelers and Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America
This exciting, unique program involves an online mentorship arrangement between a business professional and a first-year college student who received one of our Career Investment Scholarships.
Mentors serve as role models, helping students achieve their goals by encouraging self-reliance and efficiency.

Sample e-Mentoring Curriculum
The curriculum includes:
Self assessment tool – the DiSC® Profile is used to help understand behaviors and their impacts in different environments (school, work, family)
Writing an e-mail for business vs. casual correspondence
Career choices – matching industries and fields of work with the needs of regional employers
Resume development, job search and follow-up
Interviewing techniques
There are currently twelve mentor/student pairs in the e-Mentoring program. The project will resume in September 2010.
