About the event: The Membership Meeting creates a venue for our members to meet, network and do business with other Chamber members. Each meeting will feature networking, a keynote speaker, a brief preview of what’s coming at the Chamber, as well as an acknowledgement of new members and renewing members. Each meeting will also have a CBS Award (Celebrate Business Success) designed to honor a business contributing to the vitality of the East Metro Region.
This month’s speaker: Donald R. "Don" Cravins, Jr.. Cravins is Staff Director & Chief Legal Counsel, US Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship and previously served as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2004 through 2006, having represented District 40. When he was elected, he and his father, then Senator Don Cravins, Sr., made Louisiana history by becoming the first father and son duo to serve in the Louisiana Legislature at the same time. Don Cravins, Jr. later won a seat in the Louisiana State Senate, where he represented the 24th district from December 2006 until January 2009.
About the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship: The Committee oversees the Small Business Administration (SBA), handling all proposed legislation, messages, petitions, memorials, and other matters. The Committee also researches small business issues and provides periodic reports to the U.S. Senate.
March’s Membership Meeting will be held in partnership with the Midway Chamber.
